Subject: Unable to authenticate to a secure RSS feed through the Notes client despite having a dedicated account
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes 8 Client
Technical Area: Functionality
Platform: Windows XP client
Release: All
Reproducible: Always

I am trying to subscribe to a RSS feed that is accessible through a secured HTTPS connection. The authentication is done through a portal page but the field names for user name and password are not standards.

I have created a new account through File->Preferences. The client prompt me for my username and password but fails to authenticate properly.

When I open the url in the Notes browser, I am prompted with the portal's login form.

In the account specifications, I've tried all authentication methods from Portal Form to J2EE form but nothing was effective.

The problem I see is that there's no possibility for debugging. How can I check what's going wrong ?

Thanks in advance for your consideration,
Lionel
